Associating a List to a Campaign:
The Bridge Between
Inbound and Outbound
List associations connect your inbound opt-ins to your outbound campaigns — contacts who enter through a Lead Collector automatically join a list, which becomes the audience for your next bulk SMS send. This is how lifecycle marketing works in TextingOnly.
List associations are the bridge between your inbound and outbound engines. Set them up once per collector — every new opt-in populates the list automatically from that point forward.
Associating a List to a Collector
When you associate a list with a collector, any qualifying contact who enters that collector’s flow is added to the list automatically — whether or not they complete the full conversation.
Name the associated list after the collector and entry point: “Website Button Leads Q2” or “Direct Mail QR — Baltimore — Spring 2025.” This makes campaign segmentation and reporting much cleaner as your lists multiply.
Associating a List to a Campaign
When creating a bulk SMS campaign, select the list as your audience. The campaign sends to every opted-in, non-suppressed contact on that list.
The Lifecycle Loop
Well-configured list associations create a self-building outbound audience from your inbound activity:
OTTO qualifies them. They join the associated list automatically. Email lead alert fires to your team.
Your team calls the warm lead. Some convert immediately. Others don’t — but they’re in the list.
Send a personalized campaign to the list — dynamic keywords, different offer, OTTO reply automation. Non-converters get a second chance.
Every new SmartLink opt-in adds to the list. The audience for the next re-engagement campaign is always larger than the last.
How building an owned SMS list from inbound opt-ins creates a re-marketable audience that grows automatically — and why it outperforms email at every stage of the lifecycle.
